McVaugh Custom homes has just broken ground on a new modern luxury community in Houston, located in the city’s Westchase district. This new gated community, Royal Oaks Courtyard Villas, is located next to the Royal Oak Country Club.

The home builder is currently building six model homes and six spec homes. The first phase of homes is expected to be completed later this year. There are plans to build 80 modern-style homes, ranging in size from 2,500 square feet to 3,200 square feet. Prices will range from the $400’s to the $700’s.

The floor plans, which features tall ceilings, open spaces and clean lines were designed by California architect Danielian Associates. The homes will also feature German-made Eggersmann and Miele kitchen appliances and

The high speed train from Houston to Dallas is one step closer of becoming a reality. This could mean that a 4-5 hour drive between the two metro areas could be reduced to a 90-minute train ride.

Texas Central High Speed Railway is the company behind this project, partnering with Central Japan Railway for this undertaking. The Japanese company has experience in working without help from taxes, which is something Texas Central wants to do, according to Robert Eckles, president of the company.

The Federal Railroad Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation have begun work on an environmental impact statement for this proposed 240-mile high-speed rail system.

The development company Wulfe & Company Inc. has just broken ground on Phase 1 of East Shore Place, a new shopping center which will be located on East Shore, the “garden district” of Town Center The Woodlands, on the northwest corner of Grogan’s Mill and East Shore Drive.

East Shore is one of the most popular neighborhoods in The Woodlands, with over 2,000 residences at or near completion. It is located next to Town Center, which gives it quick access to headquarters of companies such as Anadarko, US Oncology, Chicago Bridge and Iron, and Huntsman.

July was yet another positive month for the Houston real estate market, there were positive sales, prices went up and there was a slight growth in the supply of homes. The sales volume reached the highest monthly total ever recorded.

The housing inventory has recovered, after the 40-year lows earlier this year, reaching in July a three-months supply, thanks to a consecutive growth during the past three months. Prices also reached a new high for a July, but were still lower than June all-time record highs. Sales priced between $250,000 and the millions. Construction of the Bluejack National golf course, which was announced earlier this year, has begun in Montgomery County, with an expected opening date in fall 2015.

This new, 18-hole golf course was designed by Tiger Woods Design and will be located at the former Blaketree National Golf Club site at 4430 S. FM 1486. The construction crews of Media Golf Inc. have begun working and are refurbishing the course lake and several amenities.

According to Casey Paulson, Bluejack National principal, officials are hopeful to have the course and a handful of amenities ready to play by the slated date of fall 2015.

Grand Texas—the future 610-acre sports and entertainment district in New Caney at Montgomery, Texas—is scheduled to break ground on the first phases of construction late this summer, said the CEO of the company behind the project. Sections of the park are set to open in early to mid-2015.

The development will feature a 150-acre theme park, 40-acre water park, 83-acre sports complex, RV park with 144 lots, more than 240 hotel rooms and 450,000 square feet of retail and dining once completed, said Monty Galland, CEO of the Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment District. Grand Texas, which is estimated to draw 1.2 million annual visitors, will be near the intersection of Hwy. 242 and Hwy. 59.
